My Journey

In February 2012 I had Lap Band Surgery.  It was the best decision I ever made.  I lost 50 pounds pretty quickly.  I felt AMAZING!  But this wasn't my goal.  My goal was closer to 150 pounds, so I still had a long  way to go.

Sadly the weight wasn't falling off of me any more and this happened in the middle of winter in the Pacific Northwest where it was cold and raining every day.  No way was I going to get outside and exercise.  So I got stuck at 230 pounds.  I felt good and I wasn't gaining weight so I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't satisfied either.

Finally Spring 2013 rolled around and I was able to get out and start hiking.  I lost 5 pounds, it was the first weight loss I'd seen in months!  I was dreaming of hiking the Appalachian Trail but after only a few short weeks I started having trouble with my foot.  I stopped exercising because in my head if I wasn't doing something I enjoyed I wasn't going to do it and walking/hiking was what I enjoyed.  I didn't take long to put that 5 pounds back on and that brings us to where THIS journey begins.  The journey of finding a way to get healthy and lose weight with a bum foot.  I don't know where it will lead but I'm looking forward to finding out.

I will try to post at least one post a week to keep me accountable and I'll post my current weight on Sundays.

Starting Weight (pre-surgery)t: 280
Goal Weight: 150
Dream Weight: 135
