4 Days

...since my last vomiting episode.  It happens so frequently I had mostly stopped keeping track.  Now that I'm blogging for the world to see I thought I would share it.  After all, it's part of the journey.

It happened on Sunday, after I wrote my last post.  A little back story.  Most days I have to take liquids really slow first thing in the morning.  After an hour I can usually drink normally and after 2 hours I can usually start to eat mushy foods or smoothies.  After 3 hours I'm usually good to start eating real food.  Well, Sunday I decided to eat something I shouldn't eat when I shouldn't eat it.  And it didn't go down... at all.  After trying all my regular tricks I finally gave up and brought it back up.  I've learned a few things over the past year and 3 months of having the lapband. One of those things is that if it hasn't gone down and I'm still in pain about half an hour later it isn't going down and I may as well get rid of it.  I've also learned that when I'm really stuck like that a mere sip of water will instantly bring it all up.

I'm not proud.  I'm disappointed in myself really.  I know that I need to chew better.  Once I figure that out I don't think I'll have these problems.  It's just too bad I haven't learned the chewing lesson as quickly as I've learned all the other lessons.

  1. I haven't had my first fill yet, so reading some of this scares me! I can be "lazy" right now with chewing, etc, so I'm trying to take heed from your advice to pay attention to these "lessons". I know I've gotten more sloppy, because it doesn't feel like I have a band yet. (new follower, reading some of your blogs to get to know you!) :-)
